Alocasia macrorrhizos also known as Giant taro, is a plant which is popular for its large leaves. The leaves are shaped in the form of elephant's ear, hence the common name "Elephant Ear." This plant also produces striking inflorescence, which consists of cream-colored spathe and spadix. This plant is also known for its tuberous rhizome, which stores the nutrients for the plant and help it to survive during the time of drought.
